Two movies in, and star Tom Hardy still can’t get enough Venom.

Neither can the fans.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is projecting an impressive $60+ million opening weekend.

On September 30, Geekosity Editor-in-Chief Mikey Sutton argued that Sony’s $40 million prediction is a “conservative estimate.”

It was.

The Venom sequel proved to be a slight improvement with critics over the 2018 original.

In fact, it earned a higher score on Rotten Tomatoes this time around (currently 60% over 30%).

Moreover, the general public enjoyed the movie.

It even sent social media into a frenzy following the explosive post-credit scene which brought Venom into the MCU.

One element from both Venom solo outings that everyone agrees is the strongest is Tom Hardy’s portrayal of the classic anti-hero.

This time Tom Hardy also helped pen the story for Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

Furthermore, Tom Hardy earned himself a producer credit on the film.

Many who have worked with Tom Hardy on these movies have also offered their praise to the actor.

They noted his Dr. Jekyll and Hyde-like performance as Eddie Brock and Venom.

Director Andy Serkis and Tom Hardy’s longtime associate Kelly Marcel complimented his portrayal.

Marcel has been working with Tom Hardy since his breakout starring role in the 2008 British biopic crime flick Bronson.

Marcel raved:

He can do Eddie talking to Venom live, he can switch voice to voice and character to character that fast, as if we are having a conversation. It is quite mind-blowing.

Tom Hardy expressed his devotion to both the character and his solo movies during a recent sit down with The Hollywood Reporter while promoting the film saying:

I’m deeply invested in this particular franchise.

He further went on to say that he’s hopeful for more solo outings as Venom but that ultimately depends on the success of the movie.

Tom Hardy admitted:

If it’s successful, there is another one to do.

Despite how the film will perform at the box office, this will definitely not be the last time we’ll see him sink his teeth as Venom.

Venom’s role expands after that post-credits scene.

Venom is in the MCU now.

The possibilities for the character are endless.
