The Witcher Season Three has received an awful audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Viewers are quite literally throwing tomatoes at it. Apart from Superman, Henry Cavill has made himself a household name for his leading role in Netflix’s The Witcher.

Cavill’s universally acclaimed portrayal of Geralt Of Rivia is rightfully considered to be the show’s strongest element. This shouldn’t come as a surprise given his dedication to role and his love for the source material.

Moreover, his onscreen chemistry with his co-stars (particularly Anya Chalotra) was endlessly praised by viewers. At this point it’s impossible to picture another actor as the supernatural monster hunter.

Nonetheless, this is exactly what fans will have do since The Witcher‘s third season will be Cavill’s last time playing Geralt. On October 29th 2022, the actor announced in an Instagram post that he was leaving The Witcher for unknown reasons.

Furthermore, Cavill explained that he will still star in the show’s upcoming third season as he’d already completed filming it. Something Netflix has had to hilariously remind fans with their marketing campaign for The Witcher Season Three.

In other words, there’s more Cavill left unlike his Superman at Warner Bros. Discovery.

In addition, he also announced that The Hunger Games actor Liam Hemsworth will be taking over the role. As expected this shocking news was met with outrage and heartbreak from fans of The Witcher.

Many have even declared that they will not watch any future seasons of the show without Cavill. The main reason for his departure is strongly suggested to be due to disagreements with the writers.

The Witcher has deviated from its roots from time to time which reportedly frustrated Cavill. Now with the third season finally streaming on Netflix, the reviews have began to emerge online.

So far its received mostly positive reviews from critics who unsurprisingly praise Cavill’s performance as Geralt. The Witcher Season Three currently boasts an impressive critical score of 84% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The audience, score on the other hand, tells a different story. As of writing this, the audience score sits at a disastrous 44%.

Looking at the audience reviews, a majority of complaints are aimed at even more changes.

Another reason for this poor response could also be down to the backlash towards Cavill’s departure. At this point, how much interest will be left with Cavill gone?

Indeed, it’s clear that the program won’t survive without Cavill playing Geralt.

The final three episodes of will be available to stream on Netflix on July 27.
