The MCU Could Have Bigger Plans For Doctor Strange’s Wong

The MCU Could Have Bigger Plans for Doctor Strange's Wong - Marvel

After Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, the MCU has more plans for Wong. Wong (Benedict Wong) is the ever-reliable companion of Doctor Strange, taking care of his Sanctum Sanctorum.

Wong has been a great help in Doctor Strange and in both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

His presence in the MCU continues to grow. In the addition, he also has shown that he’s a capable fighter in all of the movies that has been in.

Somehow Wong has landed even more film appearances than Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) and Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings).

We just saw Wong in Shang-Chi and the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer.

Moreover, it shows that he’s considered one of the most interesting characters in the MCU.

But we wonder: Will we ever see a Wong in his own solo endeavor?

A tweet from “lil bit of evrything” mentioned that he’d like to see Wong have his own series in Disney Plus.

Benedict Wong answered with simple emoticons “wondering or thinking” and “light bulb.”

A lot of people might interpret this as “this might be an interesting idea.”

We wonder if that does mean anything.

Shang-Chi star Simu Liu give his support by giving it a “like.”

Is there really a possibility of a Wong-centered series?

Will we see a story arc for Wong like what happened with Bruce Banner’s the Hulk, which was told in several movies?

Or is it also possible that it just means what it is, “a interesting idea,” but nothing more?

Most of the series seen on Disney Plus is focused on the main characters of the MCU like Loki, the Scarlet Witch, the Vision, and the Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Wouldn’t it be that Disney Plus is also the best platform to expand more on the characters who support them?

Since Marvel Studios is planning a lot of things for Disney Plus with Brad Winderbaum taking the lead, it doesn’t seem impossible to have more stories on other characters in the MCU.

But for now, everything is up in the air with how Marvel Studios will move forward within the streaming network.

We just hope we do see more of Wong and other secondary characters in the MCU.

We really are curious to see what adventures Wong might get into without Doctor Strange close by.

In the meantime, we will see more of Wong in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home in December 17, 2021 and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in March 25, 2022.
