The Fantastic Four’s the Thing is reportedly headed towards She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. From Jessica Jones to Daredevil, She-Hulk brims with cameos. Well, those are rumors. Marvel Studios hasn’t confirmed them yet.

The Everything Always YouTube channel covered a recent uncredited 4Chan scoop. Host Michael Roman revealed that Jason Segel (How I Met Your Mother) plays the Thing in She-Hulk. If so, Segel will be the Thing in The Fantastic Four film.
First of all, Roman explained that this is an anonymous leak. In other words, it might not be a trustworthy source. Nevertheless, it’s plausible enough to warrant attention. Apparently Segel will use a motion capture suit to portray the Thing. Furthermore, the Thing won’t appear until the eighth episode.

That detail sounds fairly specific. Moreover, Segel isn’t the headline-grabbing name that attaches itself to fake news. Granted, that doesn’t guarantee it’s accurate. Still, it’s enough to pass Roman’s credibility test, and I agree. When it comes to scoops, no matter their origins, the first question is this: Does it make sense?
It does.
Secondly, the Thing battles the Wrecking Crew. Perfection. The Thing and She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) teaming up against those ’70s cheeseballs feels so right. Bronze Age comics fans can already imagine drinking slurpees while watching this.
Ever since John Krasinski appeared as Reed Richards recently, the Fantastic Four rumor mill heated up. (No, Howard Stern is not Doctor Doom). But Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness featured a Mister Fantastic variant.

This Thing would be the real Thing.
Fox cast Michael Chiklis in director Tim Story’s Fantastic Four movies. Chiklis and Chris Evans’ the Human Torch made those films entertaining. Jamie Bell was the Thing in Josh Trank’s 2015 bomb. Frankly, hardly anyone remembers him. Or, for that matter, he movie.
Stuntman Carl Ciarfalio was the first Thing in Roger Corman’s 1994 feature, The Fantastic Four. Nobody ever released it on video. But I saw the bootleg then and it wasn’t that bad.
Perhaps Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige is pulling another Avengers. In other words, introduce the Fantastic Four members separately. Then bring them together in their movie.
She-Hulk could be ground zero for the Fantastic Four. It’s clobberin’ time?
