The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan has joined the cast of The Boys for its fourth season. Jeffrey Dean Morgan has become a well-known figure across pop culture over the past few years.
Most notably, he played the foul-mouthed Negan on AMC’s The Walking Dead and the sadistic Comedian in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen.
In addition, he also briefly portrayed Batman’s father Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
Nonetheless, fans mostly remember Morgan as the demon-hunting John Winchester on the CW’s Supernatural. The Boys‘ showrunner Eric Kripke created Supernatural.

For Season Three of the dark superhero series, Kripke cast Supernatural star Jensen Ackles as the villainous Soldier Boy. He’s basically an evil version of Captain America. Later, the series revealed him to be the father of the show’s main antagonist, Homelander (Antony Starr).
Among several new additions to The Boys‘ cast for Season Four is Jeffrey Dean Morgan. This makes Morgan the third actor from Supernatural to join The Boys.
In Supernatural, Ackles portrayed Morgan’s son and lead character Dean Winchester. The other is Jim Beaver, who played Sam and Dean Winchester’s surrogate father Bobby Singer.
So far Season Four is shaping up to be a reunion of sorts for the Supernatural cast and creator. This recent casting has been a long time coming as Morgan is big fan of the show.

Back in 2020, he voiced his love for the show’s first season as well as his excitement for the second. Kripke not long later replied inviting Morgan to join the cast for Season Three if he was available.
To which the actor responded:
In a heartbeat!
Unfortunately, since he was busy filming the final season of The Walking Dead, Morgan was unable to make an appearance. However, now that filming has wrapped, this has given the actor plenty of time to show up in Season Four.
How long or how big Morgan’s role in The Boys is still up in the air, though. After all, he’s not finished with The Walking Dead universe just yet. He will reprise his role as Negan in the upcoming spin-off, The Walking Dead: Dead City.
