Superman: Legacy is currently looking at four potential actresses for the role of Lois Lane.
Casting for James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy is currently underway. Countless auditions have already taken place with hundreds, possibly thousands of hopeful actors.
Moreover, The Hollywood Reporter has recently revealed the frontrunners for the roles of Superman, Lex Luthor and Lois Lane. So far the top choice for Superman is 29 year old actor David Corenswet.
Already fans are onboard with this potential casting. As for Lex Luthor, it’s been strongly suggested that former X-Men star Nicholas Hoult is the studio’s favourite.

In addition, Deadline’s Justin Kroll claimed that Hoult was actually in talks for Superman rather than Lex Luthor. The actor previously auditioned for Batman in Matt Reeves’ recent reboot.
Nonetheless, the role was given to Robert Pattinson in the end. Hopefully Nicholas Hoult will have better luck this time around.
Last but not least, there’s Lois Lane.
After all, you can’t have a Superman movie without Lois Lane. While there’ve been many actresses who’ve portrayed the character over the years, Margot Kidder remains the most popular.
Her timeless performance as Superman’s main love interest in the original movie series is universally loved by fans. Furthermore, her on-screen chemistry with Christopher Reeve is still considered to this day to be one of cinema’s greatest romances.
It seems that the studio is hoping to recapture this magic in this new Superman movie. Four actresses that are reportedly up for the role of the spunky journalist have been named by The Hollywood Reporter.
First up is Emma Mackey who’s known for her leading role in the Netflix comedy series Sex Education. Then there’s Rachel Brosnahan, the Emmy-winning star of Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Also Bridgerton actress Phoebe Dynevor and Scream VI’s Samara Weaving. Brosnahan apparently delivered a breathtaking performance during her audition.

However she’s 32 years old and the studio is looking for someone in their twenties to play the character. Emma Mackey is the fan-favourite choice out of the four.
Not surprising given her character in Sex Education shares similar character traits with Lois Lane. We should know who’ll be the playing who by the time San Diego Comic-Con comes around.
