Shazam to Have More Serious Tone in Sequel

The Shazam! franchise began as a comedy, but its sequel adopts a more serious tone to prepare for Black Adam.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods director himself, David Sandberg, revealed the costumes for his upcoming movie for DC Films.

Why would the director reveal it so soon?

After all, the movie is still two years away from its theatrical release.

This reveal came out of nowhere.

You would wonder why he revealed it so soon.

Sandberg on his own Twitter feed said:

Don’t know how long we can keep the new suits from leaking so here’s a pic I took the other day.

In case anyone wanted to grab a snatch of the costumes, the director himself beat everyone to it.

This does have merit, though.

In contrast, director Andy Muschietti only revealed logos for The Flash (2022) movie.

However, not long after that, pictures from the production came out revealing Supergirl’s new costume.

Filmmakers usually don’t like this happening but it is hard to control.

It would be better for the director to reveal them instead of getting the information out without his knowledge.

Dwayne Johnson also made a slight teaser image of Black Adam last May.

Black Adam also has the same power of Shazam! Although

Black Adam is known to be a villain in the comics, sometimes he does tend to turn into an anti-hero.

But his image didn’t reveal anything, though.

However, the words did reveal that it is for the DC Universe.

Shooting for Johnson’s movie started on April 10, 2021.

Black Adam is scheduled to be released on July 29, 2022.

Sources claim that both films will connect.

The picture Sandberg shared reveals the entire Shazam! family with lead star Zarchary Levi as Billy Baston, Adam Brodi as Freddy Freeman, Ross Butler as Eugene Choi, D.J. Cotrana as Pedro Pena, Megan Good as Darla Dudley, and Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield.
