Sasha Calle's Hot Toys Figure Looks Like A Crushing Failure

Sasha Calle’s Supergirl Hot Toys 1:6 scale collectible figure looks like a rare fumble for the company. While her time in The Flash was shorter than we expected, Sasha Calle’s Supergirl still managed to steal the show.

Immediately upon her initial casting announcement, anticipation for Sasha Calle’s portrayal as the Girl of Steel was high. So much so that Warner Bros. Discovery and DC quickly went all in on merchandising for The Flash.

Most of the film’s merchandise has particularly focused on Sasha Calle’s Supergirl and Michael Keaton’s Batman.

Moreover, controversies surrounding star Ezra Miller caused the studio to shift marketing more towards those characters. Prior to the DC Studios restructuring, a Supergirl movie starring Sasha Calle was rumored to be in active development.

However, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn announced his own Supergirl film. In addition, it’ll take place in his new Gunn’s new DC Cinematic Universe.

Unfortunately, this leaves Sasha Calle’s role as the hero in question. Nonetheless, she has recently confirmed that she’s met with DC Studios in regards to her Supergirl future.

Hopefully, we’ll get to see her take to the skies again should DC decide to keep her on. If not, fans will always cherish her short time as Supergirl.

In terms of merchandise, many have been waiting for Hot Toys to announce a Sasha Calle Supergirl 1:6 scale figure.

Hot Toys is known for its high end collectible figures with their lifelike sculpts. Finally, after months of waiting, the company have at last revealed a first look at their prototype.

In addition, they previously announced figures based on Miller’s Flash and Keaton’s Batman.

Unlike those figures however, this Supergirl toy has been met with universal backlash. While her costume is accurate to what we saw onscreen, the head sculpt is far off in terms of likeness.

Many have complained that the figure doesn’t even look like Sasha Calle.

Rather, Twitter uses have even suggested that it looks more like Spider-Man actor Tom Holland or Doctor Who’s Matt Smith.

They’re not wrong in all honesty.

Seriously, you can’t unsee it.

While this is disappointing it’s also worth noting that this is only a prototype.

The final product will most likely look much better when it releases.
