Mephisto is likely to appear in Disney Plus’ Ironheart. On October 18, Deadline broke the story that Marvel Studios signed Sacha Baron Cohen in a villainous role. Moreover, they claimed it was for Mephisto. The original report revealed:
A source close to the production confirmed to Deadline that there is talk on the set about Cohen being part of Ironheart, likely playing Mephisto.
Prior to WandaVision, many media outlets (including this one) believed Mephisto would debut then. Without a doubt, a number of reporters acquired widespread misinformation from various sources. Given WandaVision’s twists and turns, much of it probably emanated from Marvel Studios.

Indeed, they attempted to throw the press off the scent. Ouch.
They succeeded. Well played.
Well, that’s our excuse. What’s yours?
In other words, it was an epic scoop fail. Everyone took an M on it. But audiences thought the show hinted at Mephisto in every turn. In fact, it spawned numerous hilarious memes. LOL.
Mephisto was suddenly everywhere. Even though he wasn’t anywhere.
Ironheart now seems to bring Mephisto to life. Fans may be having doubts. Indeed, they’ve been burned by Mephisto gossip too many times before. Understandably, they don’t want to be disappointed.
Furthermore, Spider-Man: No Way Home teased Mephisto. In the comics, Spider-Man had to make a deal with Mephisto. That deal led him to sacrifice his relationship with Mary Jane Watson. Specifically, Mephisto erased her memories. Sound familiar?
But still no Mephisto. Again.
Thanks.
When Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) showed his zombie version, there were hunches once more. After all, the movie had dark tones. It paved the way for horror into the MCU. Mephisto, are you there?
Again, no Mephisto.

Fans then thought Mephisto appears in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Marvel Studios even hired The Evil Dead‘s Sam Raimi to direct. Mephisto? Yes?
Hell no.
Instead, Elizabeth Olsen fully becomes the Scarlet Witch. In the end, she destroys all versions of the Darkhold in every universe.
And when people talk about Mephisto, it leads to the Ghost Rider reboot. On January 20, 2021, Geekosity founder Mikey Sutton explained how. Mephisto gives Ghost Rider his demonic powers.
Thus, Marvel Studios needs Mephisto. Soon.
Then again, how does Ironheart fit? It’s not horror. Rather, it’s science-fiction. On the other hand, supporting character the Hood (Anthony Ramos) has ties to the dark arts. Yes! Devil inside? Hello, Mephisto. For sure now? Maybe. Cross your fingers.
