Paramount’s Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Launches New Trilogy

Written by Edwin Francisco

Paramount confirmed that Transformers: Rise of the Beasts starts a new trilogy.

The first Michael Bay Transformers movie ignited a franchise.

Shia LeBeouf starred in the initial trilogy.

However, Mark Wahlberg replaced him in the next two films.

Michael Bay directed five movies and produced seven.

That includes the upcoming Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

Nevertheless, Travis Knight directed the last movie, Bumblebee.

Hailee Steinfeld’s charming performance elevated Bumblebee; thus, it became the best reviewed Transformers film.

Certainly, Bay polarized many old-school fans.

In fact, that may be an understatement.

Hardcore Transformers followers despised his work.

In fact, they dubbed his movies “Bayformers.”

In other words, they’re not worthy of the Transformers brand.

Ironically, the Bay-less Bumblebee was the weakest at the box office.

Still, it wasn’t the film’s fault.

Rather, it was audience fatigue. But the critical praise justified that the franchise can continue.

Paramount announced that Transformers: Rise of the Beasts launches a new trilogy.

However, Paramount hasn’t announced the titles or release dates for the follow-ups.

Furthermore, there is no news if any actors return.

In fact, it’s unknown if the writers or even the director Steven Caple Jr. will return either.

For now, Paramount wrapped filming on October 20, 2021.

It’s already deep into the post-development process now.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts takes place in the 1990s.

The new set of Transformers are called the Maximals, the Predacons and the Terrorcons will be coming from the future through time travel.

Since we know that the movie is inspired from Terminator 2: Judgment Day, will this reboot the entire franchise like Star Trek?

Will the follow up movies be based on Beast Wars or will they just continue with the Autobots vs. Decepticons?

The movie features characters from TV’s Transformers: Beast Wars (1996-1999).

Beast Wars was set in the same timeline as the 1984 cartoon.

In this show, the Transformers transform into animals instead of vehicles or objects.

The show lasted three seasons with 52 episodes.

Peter Cullen returns as Optimus Prime, who transforms into an 1987 Freightliner FLA semi truck.

While Ron Perlman will be Optimus Primal, the leader of the Maximals.

He transforms into a gorilla.

Paramount unleashes Transformers: Rise of the Beasts on June 9, 2023.

Can Paramount rejuvenate the Transformers?

There might be more than meets the eye.
