Norman Reedus: More Evidence That He’s Marvel’s Ghost Rider

Written by Edwin Francisco

Norman Reedus continues to hint he’s the new Marvel Cinematic Universe Ghost Rider.

At this point, it looks likely.

Norman Reedus shared an art piece by Mizuriau.

Specifically, it shows Norman Reedus’ face in half while the other half is a burning skull.

In the past, artist Mizuriau showed Keanu Reeves in a similar style.

Norman Reedus and Keanu Reeves are fan favorites for Ghost Rider.

Marvel Studios offered Keanu Reeves several roles in the MCU.

He hasn’t accepted any of them.

On the other hand, Norman Reedus expressed interest in Ghost Rider.

In fact, on November 13 we reported that Norman Reedus was in talks for Ghost Rider.

With Norman Reedus himself posting Ghost Rider fan art, it fuels the hype.

Entertainment Weekly asked Disney about the rumor.

However, Disney “didn’t immediately respond” to their request for a comment.

In other words, Disney either couldn’t reply in time or they chose not to.

If it’s the latter, that’s a tad suspicious.

After all, there have been times when Disney didn’t offer a reply because it’s true.

On the contrary, Norman Reedus’ representative denied it:

No truth to this at this time.

Stop right there.

The key words aren’t “no truth.” Rather, they are “at this time.”

See the difference?

It’s not final yet.

Norman Reedus is still in negotiations.

But he’s probably far enough in discussions to hint at it.

Yet that could close in a day or a week. It varies.

The flaming skull debuted on the big screen with Nicholas Cage as Johnny Blaze.

They were 2007’s Ghost Rider and 2011’s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.

Critics mostly panned both Sony films.

Yet the films still earned quite well.

Certainly, it made enough for a sequel.

Nevertheless, after Vengeance flamed out, Cage admitted in 2013 he wasn’t interested anymore.

Cage said to MTV News:

It would be interesting if they did it with a female Ghost Rider. Personally, I’m done. I’ve done what I had to do with that part. You never say never, but right now, today, I would say that I’m done.

While on TV, Gabriel Luna took the role as Robbie Reyes in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Even though Luna’s Ghost Rider didn’t last very long, the character he was a highlight of the series.

Moreover, he was so popular that fans wanted him to return.

Luna was set to reprise his role for Hulu’s Ghost Rider solo series.

Unfortunately, it didn’t push through.

Luna explained earlier this year:

We were in full pre-production at that point now that Disney-owned Fox and we had the Hulu relationship, that all would work out. I was doing everything in my power to make sure my mind and body were all prepared for a few-month-long engagement trying to get our show up. It was really disappointing just in the end. I remember at the time I tried to have some perspective on it and you can’t look back. You’ve got to just keep on plugging forward.

If Norman Reedus is signed, expect to see him in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Fans are excited to see him as the Ghost Rider as he rides with his flaming wheels.
