Michael Keaton’s Return To Sony For Adrian Toomes May Connect To Morbius

Michael Keaton of the upcoming movie Morbius, is back at Sony Pictures, working on his role as Adrian Toomes.

Michael Keaton returns in Jared Leto’s Morbius. The only reason why we expect him to be there is because Michael Keaton showed up in the Morbius trailer. Toomes is the Vulture, the main villain of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.

In the Morbius teaser trailer, released back in 2020, Michael Keaton wears what seems to be the same clothes that he had at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming.

When the trailer came out, it confused a lot of the fans. How in the world did Vulture, from the MCU, end up in Sony’s Morbius?

And at the time, as far as we knew, they existed in a different universe. We know that mainly because the Spider-Man illustration that shows up in the background is not Holland. It’s the Toby Maguire version. Then again, Sony could’ve been misleading us. It’s possible that Sony learned a thing or two being with Marvel that you can tweak trailers to mislead the audience.

Michael Keaton himself shared an Instagram picture that he’s back at Sony, saying:

“Little A Toomes work today.”

So, there is no doubt that he’s working on the character. The question is what is he working on? The film has gone through some rescheduled release dates. It was originally supposed to be released on March 19, 2021; October 8, 2021; January 21, 2022; January 8, 2022, and now April 1, 2022. Morbius has gone through a lot of rescheduled dates.

Reshoots for the movies started back in February 2020, but the worldwide pandemic halted the production. It’s obvious that a new date would push the movie’s release at the time. No movie was safe from the pandemic. Back in February 2021, Leto even said that additional reshoots were being done.

Right after the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, we suddenly get an announcement for another rescheduled release. Are they shooting more stuff for the movie?

Is Sony taking the same route as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness reshooting pattern?

Reshoot as much as you can?

At this point, I do hope that Michael Keaton’s appearance in Morbius is not just a small cameo. Sometimes movie delays really help the movie get better pacing, a better-told story, and a better overall package so to speak.
