Mary Elizabeth Winstead will play a Star Wars Rebels favorite in the upcoming Ahsoka. It goes without saying that 2022 has been a great year for Star Wars. Most notably on the television side with the release of four brand new Disney Plus series throughout the year. It started off with The Book Of Boba Fett. Although that actually premiered at the end of 2021, Disney Plus aired a majority of its episodes in 2022.

Therefore, it’s close enough.

Disney Plus then launched two more live-action Star Wars TV shows in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor. Fans and critics praised the latter as among the finest Star Wars projects. In addition, there was also Tales Of The Jedi, a series of animated shorts set during the prequel era. The franchise is hoping to continue this winning streak with even more TV series in 2023.

New programs like Skeleton Crew and The Acolyte will debut next year on Disney Plus. The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch animated series will both be returning for their respective third and second seasons. Plus, a second season of the acclaimed anime series, Star Wars: Visions.

Furthermore, we can hopefully expect to see the second season of Andor premiere towards the end of 2023. However, most fans await Ahsoka. Rosario Dawson made her debut as the popular character during The Mandalorian’s second season. In addition, she briefly came back the role in a welcome guest appearance in The Book Of Boba Fett. The actress will finally lead her own series, which will also act as a sequel to the animated Star Wars: Rebels.

Joining Dawson will be Natasha Liu Bordizzo and Eman Esfandi, who’ll portray live action versions of two characters from Rebels, Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger.

Furthermore, Hayden Christensen will also reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker. He’ll appear in flashback scenes with a young Ahsoka Tano. Moreover, Ahsoka added Mary Elizabeth Winstead in an undisclosed role.

This has led to endless speculation regarding who her character will be.

According to a new report from Bespin Bulletin, Winstead portrays another popular character from Rebels, Hera Syndulla.

Rumors swirled in the past about this casting. In addition, this new report added more fuel to the fire. Still, there’s no confirmation yet. But with the new year fast approaching, we could find out soon enough.
