Marvel’s plan for how Namor will make his long awaited live action Marvel Cinematic Universe debut has possibly leaked.
One of Marvel’s first characters, Namor the Sub-Mariner is reportedly set to finally make his first ever highly anticipated live action appearance in the upcoming Black Panther sequel.
The sequel entitled, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to showcase Namor in some form of an antagonistic role.
Moreover, the character was first teased in the MCU in Iron Man way back in 2010.
However, since then there’s been no more teases for the anti-hero apart from a mention of seismic activity at the bottom of the ocean.
This phenomenon was mentioned by Okoye in Avengers: Endgame.
As most will know, the matter of Namor’s cinematic rights have been confusing, even more confusing than Warner Bros. plan for a connected DC movie universe.
Along with the Hulk, Namor’s rights were purchased by Universal Pictures back in the 1990’s.

But unlike the Hulk, Namor was never given his own solo movie.
In recent years reports went back and forth over the ownership of the character’s rights between Marvel and Universal.
During this time, many believed that Namor was co-owned by both studios.
Nevertheless, it’s looking more and more likely that Marvel Studios has in fact fully regained the rights to Namor.
On top of that, it now looks like we get to know how they plan to fully introduce the character to the MCU.
According to a new leak regarding Black Panther: Wakanda Forever from a verified Reddit account which was originally reported by ComicBook.com, it seems that the events of the Eternals movie will be what causes the Atlantean Prince and his kingdom to emerge from the MCU’s depths.
Apparently, a certain part of the movie will involve the ocean and whatever happens during this scene will at last bring the Mutant/Atlantean hybrid to the surface.

This leads his story to continue in the Black Panther sequel.
What happens in this scene is still up for speculation at this point.
Since Eternals is only days away from release, it makes sense that the movie will trigger the events that lead to Namor’s debut.
Given how the movie is intending to explore the origins of the MCU as a whole, it is certain that it will also plant the seeds for the future.
Through The Eternals, other entries in the franchise can have a beginning.
It’s looking like one of these seeds are for Namor and it will help set up important story elements for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Continuity still remains a strong asset for Marvel Studios.
