Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD Could Return With Original Cast On Disney Plus

When Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns to Disney Plus, it’ll be a soft reboot with the original cast.

According to a new report, the plan is to return all the characters back; however, it doesn’t require anyone to watch the original show.

The original leak explains that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige wants to reintroduce the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. through various films or TV programs.

On February 5, I covered a story that Chloe Bennet will return as Quake in the upcoming Secret Invasion limited series on Disney Plus.

I leaked a Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. revival on January 27.

Discussions have since been updated.

Initially, the new Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was supposed to pick up where the original show left off.

Apparently, the inclusion of the Inhumans in AOS is the main reason for the continuity shift.

Even though the Royal Family wasn’t introduced until ABC’s short-lived Inhumans, their race debuted on AOS.

Kevin Feige Talks Agents Of Shield Returning To The MCU

Feige wants a completely fresh start for the Inhumans.

Bennet’s character Quake herself is an Inhuman.

Inhumans was originally planned as a movie to be a part of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe Phase Three.

But it had issues behind the scenes before it even got into production.

Therefore, instead of a movie, it was turned onto a TV show that was released in 2017.

Furthermore, the first episode was even released in IMAX theaters.

Inhumans failed to capture an audience.

If you can’t remember what that show was, you are not to blame.

The showrunner was Scott Buck, whose Season One on Iron Fist became a running joke with the fans.

Nothing much good came out of Inhumans, and it’s obvious that Feige wants you to forget that it even existed.

Although the Inhumans will be recast, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. apparently won’t be.

I’ve reported for years now how Feige intends to keeping much of the Netflix Marvel actors.

Jeph Loeb originally produced the Marvel TV series since 2009 including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Daredevil, Agent Carter, and The Defenders.

But since Feige was promoted to Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Entertainment in 2019, he had to rethink how to approach them.

On ABC, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was very successful and lasted seven seasons from 2013 to 2020.

The show was set sometime after the events of the first Avengers movie.

The show was connected with the MCU with subtle references during its run; for example, Samuel L. Jackson even reprised his role as Nick Fury.

But as the show progressed, it felt somewhat distant from the MCU movies.

By the end, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was doing its own thing.

Although Thanos’ upcoming arrival was referenced, The Blip was not.

Since the new Inhumans will be completely ignoring the series, it’s no longer canon.

Moreover, that means everything leading up to it.
