Harley Quinn could be headed her way to HBO Max; however, this time it’s in live action.

A new report leaks that Warner Bros. is developing a live-action series starring Harley Quinn.

To what capacity will the series be? It might be too early to say. A mini-series? Or something a little more long-term?

Of all the characters that the DCEU has put out in their movies, no one has made an impact quite the same as Margot Robbie’s interpretation of Harley Quinn.

Regardless of the performance of her movies, Robbie owned the character. She is one of those characters we want to see on the same screen as Ben Affleck’s Batman.

There is no update yet if Robbie will be involved in this Harley Quinn project.

But we have reported before that she herself is interested in reprising the role.

She mentioned that during an interview while promoting The Suicide Squad.

It’s possible that Margot Robbie’s interest in playing the character is what prompted Warner Bros. to actually consider making a series about Harley Quinn.

After all, Warner Bros. knows that she is a fan favorite. Moreover, HBO Max’s adult animated series Harley Quinn also has been very popular with fans.

DC Films has been putting in a lot of projects left and right on HBO Max with Angel Manuel Soto’s Blue Beetle, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah’s Batgirl, J.J. Abrams’ Superman, Michael B. Jordan’s Val-Zod Superman.

Furthermore, there’s the recently announced Black Canary with actress Jurnee Smollett reprising her titular character from Birds of Prey. In addition, there are rumors that the Huntress is also in early development.

We also know that DC Films is not kidding even with their streaming series with Peacemaker. John Cena reprises his role from the recent James Gunn movie The Suicide Squad.

Gunn himself is the series’ showrunner.

He wrote all of the eight episodes and directed five of them, too.

So, it’s not far off that Warner Bros. is actually planning to get Robbie for the Harley Quinn series.

Nevertheless, right now this is just speculation. But with the recent confirmation of Smollett returning to her role from Birds of Prey, it seems plausible that DC Films is sticking to their guns.

Regardless if they do get her or not, it seems that Robbie is not stopping for anything. She is keeping herself busy regardless of what Warner Bros. is planning for her.

The multiverse is already being unlocked in the upcoming Ezra Miller film The Flash.

With or without Robbie’s Harley Quinn, the show can still continue if Warner will want to push through with it.

But it is going to be hard to see anyone else in the role at this time.
