Krysten Ritter dropped a big hint that she’ll appear on Daredevil: Born Again. Without a doubt, there’s no subtlety here. In fact, she could have just announced it. On her Instagram account, Ritter wore a Daredevil tank top as she worked out. As Morrissey once sang, “Message received loud and clear.”
In addition, Krysten Ritter teased returning as Jessica Jones before. On March 6, 2022, I covered Ritter’s Instagram photo of her in Jones’ doo and jacket. It seems Instagram has become Ritter’s method of revealing MCU updates. Certainly, she’s building excitement for her return.
On January 31, 2021, I scooped that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige wanted Krysten Ritter to come back as Jones. At the time, the live-action rights to Jones were about to return to Disney. Fans wondered if Feige would recast the character. I revealed that Feige had no such plans. Like Charlie Cox’ Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio’s the Kingpin, Ritter acquired massive acclaim and popularity as Jones. Likewise, she defined Jones.

There are certain actors who turn into iconic versions of superheroes. Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine represent the biggest examples.
Certainly, Ritter hasn’t reached that level. After all, none of Marvel Studios’ theatrical movies have included her. At least, not yet.
Ritter starred in Netflix’ Jessica Jones from 2015 to 2019. It provided a female perspective to Netflix’ group of Defenders shows. This collection of adult-oriented Marvel programs took a grounded view of the MCU. Well, that’s what we thought.
Indeed, Marvel TV claimed, “It’s all connected.” On the contrary, they existed in their own pocket universe. In other words, Feige didn’t work on them. Thus, he refused to acknowledge them in his own MCU map.

Nevertheless, those days are over. Daredevil: Born Again falls under Feige’s creative supervision. Spider-Man: No Way Home introduced Cox into the MCU. Hawkeye did the same for D’Onofrio. They raise a question. Is this the same Jones from Netflix?
Probably not.
Yes, it’ll be Ritter.
On the other hand, she’ll play a different Jones.
