Kat Dennings Was Unaware of Mutant Guest on WandaVision

Kat Dennings was in the dark about a surprise mutant guest star in WandaVision; in fact, a disguise was used to prevent the crew from finding out. During a recent interview, Kat Dennings revealed the behind-the-scenes secrecy used to hide Evan Peters’ shocking debut on the Disney Plus series.

On WandaVision, Evan Peters returned as the mutant Quicksilver but this time in the MCU. Evan Peters played him in several of Fox’s X-Men pictures like 2014’s Days of Future Past and 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse.

However, in MCU continuity, Quicksilver was portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Sadly, his version died in the MCU’s Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015).

WandaVision hasn’t explained yet how Evan Peters is Quicksilver in this universe; it’s a mystery that will be solved soon.

Nevertheless, I discussed rumors on how they were planning to unveil the truth in a previous report. (Spoiler alert: More than one mutant is coming.)

Kat Dennings opened up about Marvel Studios’ stealth techniques:

I was the last person to know anything. Obviously, that was a massive surprise. I mean they kept it from me a little bit as well. I wasn’t sure what was going on. While we were shooting, they cloaked him in [this] thing, so no one could take a drone shot of him getting out of a van, or whatever it was. It was a big secret, but, they pulled it off.

Although she has been in the MCU since 2011’s Thor, Kat Dennings has surged on social media because of WandaVision.

Her electric chemistry with Randall Park as FBI agent Jimmy Woo is charming fans worldwide; moreover, the two have been compared to Scully and Mulder on The X-Files.

Whether Evan Peters will remain in the MCU remains to be seen. Some have speculated that Randall Park is the demon Mephisto in disguise.

But wouldn’t Mephisto fool the Scarlet Witch with Aaron Taylor-Johnson instead? After all, he couldn’t afford to give her the benefit of a doubt.
