Hugh Jackman In Talks To Play Wolverine In MCU Secret Wars

Written By Kieran Bugg

Hugh Jackman is in talks with Marvel Studios to return as Wolverine in Secret Wars, this is the second MCU film reported for Hugh Jackman.

The first is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which I scooped last month.

However, Hugh Jackman will only cameo in the Doctor Strange sequel.

On the other hand, Secret Wars is a larger role.

Whenever someone mentions Wolverine, Hugh Jackman comes to mind.

After all, Hugh Jackman appeared in nine movies as Wolverine.

He debuted in 2000’s X-Men. In 2017, he bid farewell to Wolverine in Logan.

Or did he?

Hugh Jackman and Wolverine are synonymous with one another.

Indeed, it’s almost impossible to picture a different actor wielding Wolverine’s adamantium claws.

Much like the next James Bond or Doctor Who, it’s anyone’s guess who the next Wolverine is.

Fortunately, if this report is accurate, we don’t need a new actor yet.

Nonetheless, it’s inevitable that Wolverine will be recast at some point.

Still, all of Wolverine’s appearances were under Fox.

He hasn’t been in the MCU. In other words, there’s unfinished business.

Thus, they want him back temporarily.

Undoubtedly, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home set the box office ablaze.

Not only that, but critics and audience showered it with praise.

Given that, bringing back Hugh Jackman as Wolverine is a no-brainer.

Secret Wars connects the MCU’s multiverse heroes and villains.

Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine won’t be the same from Logan. He’s a variant.

Therefore, Logan’s legacy remains.

In fact, that’s apparently how he shows up with Doctor Strange.

He’s from a parallel Earth.

Hugh Jackman teased Wolverine recently.

The actor even posted a photo of him with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.

Was that a coincidence?

This also makes sense after what we’ve seen Marvel Studios do with their take on the multiverse so far.

Loki and Spider-Man: No Way Home opened many possibilities.

Moreover, Hugh Jackman expressed his interest playing Wolverine again in an Avengers movie.

That is, if it didn’t ruin Logan’s ending.

No doubt though he’ll deny any reports of him returning.

Likewise, so did Vincent D’Onofrio and Andrew Garfield.

Yes, look how they turned out.
