Gal Gadot could still remain as Wonder Woman after the DCU reboot. While DC Studios haven’t made a final decision yet, they haven’t closed the door. In fact, it’s open both ways.
During an interview, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn opened up on what’s in store for the DCU. Gunn even spoke out on Gal Gadot and the possibility of her reprising her Wonder Woman role.
It turns out he and partner Peter Safran have been in touch with Gal Gadot. Gunn explained:
“We’ve talked to Gal Gadot. She’s up for doing stuff. We’re not sure what we’re going to do with that. All I can tell you really right now is Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck are not part of this universe.”

In other words, Gunn doesn’t have a plan yet. At least not a complete one. After all, it takes several hours a day to troll fans on Twitter or throw grenades at the #SellZSJLtoNetflix campaign.
The reveal of DC Studios’ first wave of upcoming films and TV shows left us with more questions than answers.
Instead of being a full-on reboot as originally expected, the new DCU will be a loose continuation of the DCEU. Indeed, Gunn had to find a way to keep his Peacemaker cast, which includes his wife, actress Jennifer Holland.
The Flash movie will still trigger this DC universe reset as the previous Warner Bros. regime intended before their removal.
But before this was all confirmed, DC Studios scrapped various scheduled sequels. One being a third Wonder Woman movie with Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins set to return to star and direct.
As a result, Gal Gadot’s role as Wonder Woman has sadly been put into question. We previously reported that Gadot’s future as the DC Comics icon was looking rather bleak following this cancellation.
In addition, there was the devastating revelation that neither Cavill or Affleck will return as Superman and Batman. DC Studios will recast both characters with younger actors.
This only made fans more concerned about Gal Gadot’s fate in under the new leadership.
Now It sounds like there’s still hope for a possible return for Gadot’s Wonder Woman in the new DCU. Quite frankly, recasting Gadot as Wonder Woman would truly sting.
