Filipino-American Hailee Steinfeld Could Be MCU's Next Big Star After Hawkeye

Filipino-American actress Hailee Steinfeld could be the MCU’s next big star due to Disney Plus’ series, Hawkeye.

Hailee Steinfeld already shone in her earliest days in Hollywood.

In 2010, Hailee Steinfeld earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for True Grit.

Her career continued an impressive climb through films such as 2016’s The Edge of Seventeen and the 2018 hit, Bumblebee.

Critics continually raved about her performances.

Hawkeye could propel her to another level.

An MCU role can do that.

The first teaser trailer for the upcoming MCU series has just dropped.

Moreover, it teases an action-packed holiday thrill ride as well as more from the fallout of Avengers: Endgame.

However, among the highlights is Hailee Steinfeld’s energized portrayal of Kate Bishop, the female Hawkeye.

The trailer opens up with Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) spending time with his kids as they get ready for Christmas.

With barely any dialogue, Renner perfectly displays his character’s happiness for having his family back together.

He lost them for five years.

He holds regret over his violent spree during those five years.

Furthermore, Barton’s dark time as Ronin during the Blip comes back to haunt him.

The stakes are set to be high.

It seems as though people with a vendetta against Barton’s Ronin alter-ego have figured out his identity.

Bishop impersonated Barton as Ronin.

Consequently, that puts not just both the archer’s lives at stake but also his family.

As soon as Hailee Steinfeld was cast as Bishop, we all knew she was the perfect choice for the role.

This trailer just proves it further.

Hailee Steinfeld is funny, charming, and bad ass.

She will no doubt become an instant fan favourite in the MCU.

We also get our first official look at Alaqua Cox as Echo in a brief shot that feels very reminiscent of Daredevil.

The character shares a history with Daredevil in the comics.

The tone that the series feels like it’s throwing off is a similar one to the classic ’80s movie Die Hard.

The Christmas setting alone nails it.

2021 so far has been a triumphant return for the MCU following a year-long absence in 2020.

Black Widow and especially Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings were winners.

Four of their Disney Plus programs – WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki, and What If…? – wowed fans and critics.

Just like Hawkeye, it looks like the MCU just can’t miss it’s mark; this trailer certainly proves it.

Hawkeye premieres on November 24th.
