It seems Marvel has found their Captain Britain. Kevin Feige announce today they have cast Edward Lauder in the role.
For those that don’t know (how could you not?), Edward Lauder was the owner and operator of the media outlet Small Screen.
Edward Lauder is also the host of Small Screen’s youtube channel, reporting on news and dishing out scoops with an insane editor named That James Guy.
Last month rumours were circulating that Edward Lauder would be cast as Captain Britain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Some report these rumours were started by Kevin Feige himself in the YouTube comments of Small Screens videos.
Regardless of where they started, Twitter caught fire with the hashtag #Edward4CapBritain.
Numerous campaigns and events on social media made this the trending event of the year.
Apparently, it was Lauder’s outburst about Mera’s character in Zack Snyder’s Justice League that solidified the role in Kevin Feige’s mind.
If he can bring even a sliver of that passion and insanity to the role of Captain Britain, we’ll be winning Oscars. Sorry, Henry.
But what of the media outlet Small Screen, you ask?
Edward Lauder Cast As Marvel’s Captain Britain
Well it turns out Edward Lauder gave Small Screen to That James Guy when he took off to Hollywood.
Well, Atlanta first. Then Australia.
Lauder is quoted as saying upon departure:
Catch you on the flip side, Suckas!
That James Guy promptly turned Small Screen into a meme site and within hours it is being publicly traded, with stonks reaching all time highs.
However, it is being reported Lauder will remain close with Super Team Mega Force.
When Syl Abdul can get away from the studio, that is.
And to demand Snyder and Ayer Cut steaks.
Happy April Fool’s Day.
