War Machine will join The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney Plus. Don Cheadle is returning as James Rhodes in the upcoming miniseries scheduled to debut on March 19, 2021 on the streaming network. He announced this in a recent interview.
Don Cheadle will join Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as the title stars. As usual, there isn’t much known about the show, at least in terms of its plot. Officially, many of its players were revealed months ago. The anarchist group the Flag-Smashers and Baron Helmut Zemo (Daniel Brühl), from 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, are the villains. Wyatt Russell is U.S. Agent, the American government’s idea of the new Captain America.
In the comic books, Sam Wilson, otherwise known as the Falcon, became Captain America; that is most likely his destiny on the show. Wilson became Cap in All-New Captain America No. 1 in 2015.
Don Cheadle Will Rocket His Way To The Falcon And The Winter Soldier
With the addition of War Machine, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is truly the story of sidekicks who have all lost their superhero partners. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier were the BFFs of Captain America while War Machine was the best pal of Iron Man.
Captain America became old and retired in Endgame while Iron Man sacrificed his life to save the universe. Given that, it’s not difficult to see how the program will plumb the depths of its characters.
A theme of worthiness will hang in the air for these former sidekicks. They’re going to need to feel they have the right to carry their legacies but also carve their own. War Machine is going to have a Disney Plus series, too, called Armor Wars in the near future. His inclusion in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has to pave the way for that show. There is no release date yet for Armor Wars.
