The new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer teased the Living Tribunal.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness jams everything that your eyes can muster. At least, fans feel that way from the released footage. The question is, how important are those things that we see on screen?

Marvel Studios tricked audiences before with their trailers. For example, in Avengers: Infinity War, the Hulk played an active role in the trailer. But there’s no sign of him in the movie. Or in Captain America: Civil War where Marvel Studios didn’t show Spider-Man with Team Iron Man. Nevertheless, he appeared in the movie.

Or in the most recent Spider-Man: No Way Home where they didn’t show Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. In fact, an invisible force punched the Lizard instead.

Marvel Studios will release Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness this week. Indeed, spoilers saturate social media like booby traps. In other words, be careful. Oops, Geekosity scooped some of them before.

In any case, Marvel Studios keeps showing us new things to look forward to. From Professor X (Patrick Stewart) to Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell). This time, it’s the Living Tribunal.

In the latest official Doctor Strange Twitter post, they have shared a very quick 22-second teaser trailer. In the 10-second mark, you’ll see America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) jumping or floating. But on the left side of the trailer you’ll see a familiar head of the Living Tribunal.

Undoubtedly, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness digs deep in Marvel Comics history.

The Living Tribunal is a powerful cosmic entity who safeguards the multiverse. Specifically, the Living Tribunal may act to prevent one universe from gaining more power than others.

Moreover, he has the power to destroy planets if needed. He is just as old as the universe itself. Writer Stan Lee and artist Marie Severin co-created him. The Living Tribunal first appeared in a cameo in Strange Tales No. 157 in 1967.

But his full appearance was in Strange Tales No. 158 in 1967. In the comics, the Beyonders killed the Living Tribunal in New Avengers No. 30 in 2015. After his death, Adam Warlock took the responsibility of the Living Tribunal.

We do wonder how big his role is in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Considering that his existence in the movie might mean big things. The Living Tribunal protects the multiverse after all. The Illuminati holds Doctor Strange because he messed up the multiverse. That is what the trailer did point out, right? Or is this just another cameo?
