Offscreen The Flash‘s Ezra Miller has had their share of legal issues. However, before the cameras one director sings their praises. In fact, the filmmaker calls Miller “one of the greatest actors I worked with.”

Without a doubt, that’s high praise. Furthermore, it veers away from their polarizing public image. The words belong to Daliland director Mary Harron.

Ezra Miller plays a young Salvador Dali in Harron’s movie. Certainly, having Ezra Miller portray the surrealist artist seems like perfect casting.

Like Miller, Dali was a wildly eccentric figure. Nonetheless, Harron viewed Miller as a true professional. As a matter of fact, Harron voiced no issues with them. Harron said they “arrived on set to my amazement with a complete worked-out performance.”

Harron isn’t alone in admiring Miller’s talent. On August 22, I reported that Miller’s performance in The Flash impressed Warner Bros. Discovery. Indeed, that’s among the reasons why the studio remains so committed to The Flash. In other words, it isn’t just about the money.

Regardless of how good or bad The Flash is, Miller apparently knocked it out of the park. They just need to work on their bad PR to help sell it. On August 15, Miller released a public apology. They said:

Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment. I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.

Obviously, Miller won’t win over everyone. Some remain offended by their actions; they’ll never forgive them. Nevertheless, Miller chose the right path now. They can’t change the past. On the contrary, they can ensure a better future.

While Daliland won’t set the box office on fire like a DC epic, it’ll build respect towards their acting abilities.

Going forward, Warner Bros. Discovery envisions Miller’s Flash in multiple films. Miller is only 29. Their greatest achievements await them.

Warner Bros. Pictures releases The Flash in theaters on June 23, 2023.
