Did She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Tease Mephisto?

Marvel Studios could be preparing the audience for Mephisto’s debut with She-Hulk: Attorney at Law‘s latest episode. Here we go again?

Mephisto has been one of the most anticipated villains since Marvel’s Phase Four started. Rumors and theories run wild when Mephisto will actually show up. This started from Disney Plus’ WandaVision because of Mephisto’s connection to Wanda Maximoff’s kids in the comics. There were misleading hints during the show that led fans to believe that the demonic villain will appear. But no, there was no sign of him nor even hints that the villain is coming.

Speculation led to fans thinking that Mephisto will show up in another Disney Plus series, Loki. That led to nowhere either.

Still, many still think that Mephisto is just around the corner. Spider-Man: No Way Home showed subtle hints of the “devil in disguise.” People even thought that Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) might be Mephisto hiding in plain sight.

In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, fans theorized that Mephisto might be the real villain of the film manipulating Scarlet Witch. I suppose no one really wanted to see Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) turn into a villain. But again, no sign of the demon.

With everything that has happened in the MCU’s Phase Four, any mention of a demon or the devil, fans presume that Mephisto is coming. It gets to that feeling that we’re following a wild goose chase.

This time, Mephisto could be an actual reality in the MCU. In the most unlikely places. It seems that She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has given us the possibility that Mephisto does actually exist.

Be warned of possible spoilers if you have not seen She-Hulk: Attorney At Law’s fourth episode.

The MCU comedy introduced us to a world with demons. In the episode, a magician named Donny Blaze (Rhys Coiro) has opened a portal to a world unknown to us. Nor did he know about it. He just opens portals not knowing what is on the other side of it. We barely saw what the world looked like, but it did look like some kind of hell. Not only that, but something did get into the world of the MCU Earth 616. Small demons with the ability to metamorphosize to bigger demons whenever they almost die.

In effect, these creatures don’t even die. And yes, Wong (Benedict Wong) called them “demons.” This is not speculation anymore. This is the first time we saw actual demons in the MCU. She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) and Wong eventually got rid of the demons through another portal, of which only Wong knows where.

The portal to that world with demons opens up the possibility of the existence of Mephisto in the MCU. This in itself may not be Mephisto’s own world, but for sure Marvel Studios is surely easing us in. And who exactly is the demon Jake that struck a deal with Wong’s new bestie?

Steadily, Marvel Studios keeps showing us the world of the supernatural.

WandaVision already showed us that witchcraft exists in the MCU. And Marvel points out that this is different from Doctor Strange’s knowledge since he uses the mystic arts. Moon Knight has introduced us to a world of invisible creatures and Egyptian gods existing within avatars.

We are already expecting the Werewolf by Night Halloween Special which will feature Jake Gomez as Marvel’s own werewolf. We do wonder if Agatha Harkness’ own upcoming Disney Plus series Coven of Chaos will be Mephisto’s opportunity for a grand entrance.

Unless this is all just smoke and mirrors again.
