Deadpool’s MCU Debut Teased In Shang-Chi Concept Art

A concept art photo is circulating online featuring Deadpool seeming to debut in MCU through Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Ever since Marvel got all their characters back from Fox, fans consider a year or two is overdue for Deadpool to make a cameo in any one of their movies.

The wisecracking, fourth-wall-breaking, cell-regenerating, unofficially immortal mercenary is battling Proxima Midnight in Xialing’s Macau Fight Club.

For whatever reason, Deadpool and Proxima Midnight in a fight club match would have been an awesome surprise scene for the movie.

Comments on the posted photo say:

Doesn’t make sense but it works.

It would have been great; the good thing is that it appears in Dr. Strange 2 for sure.

There are also others who asked why didn’t they actually go through with the concept?

Could this have been the scene instead of Wong battling the Abomination?

March 2019 marks the time when Disney acquired the characters from Fox. The first character to cross to the MCU is Kang the Conqueror. This happened in Lokis sixth episode in the Disney Plus series.

Everybody was on the edge of their seat for Fantastic Four and the X-Men. And when you talk about X-Men, you expect Deadpool to be in that mix.

Characters from series previously streamed on Netflix beat them to the chase. Charlie Cox’s Matthew Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin showed up in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye series, respectively. None of them do fourth wall breaking. Just to put that out there.

But why is it that we have yet to see Deadpool in any MCU film?

It’s most likely because the story that is required for him to show up in the MCU is not yet in place. Like one of the comments, if he did show up in Shang-Chi, it would not have made sense.

Since he is connected to X-Men and the Mutant concept of their storyline, a huge change in the current universe has to happen first. Further, how will they explain Proxima Midnight surviving endgame?

Therefore, Spider-Man: No Way Home has to be done first to pave the way for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to create a bridge for all those Fox characters to cross in to the MCU.

This is also why there is still this strong speculation that Deadpool will really be in Multiverse of Madness.

It will then make acceptable sense. Ryan Reynolds have denied he is in Doctor Strange 2. Well from our perspective, sure Reynolds won’t technically be there, but the character Deadpool could still be.

The fact that the concept art is out there, it means even people behind the MCU cameras have been toying with the idea on how Deadpool can finally get on board. It meant they too are excited to see him in their frame. But they had to wait.

And so, we do too.
