Deadpool Sequel Samuel L Jackson Hugh Jackman Ryan Reynolds

Samuel L Jackson could join Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in a Deadpool sequel.

I leaked on April 24 that Marvel Studios wanted Jackman to team up with Deadpool in an R-rated action comedy.

No offers have been made to Jackman yet.

I explained that Jackman needed to see a script before making a decision on returning to Wolverine.

Jackman is unsure of playing Wolverine for two major reasons.

First, 2017’s Oscar-nominated blockbuster Logan was such an indelible final bow to Jackman’s years as Wolverine.

It was similar to how Clint Eastwood said goodbye to his Western past with 1992’s Unforgiven.

Furthermore, Jackman is 52; although still in shape, the physical toll of portraying Wolverine is overwhelming.

But Marvel Studios intends on making Jackman’s Wolverine from the multiverse; he won’t be in the same continuity as Logan.

After all, MCU head Kevin Feige has no intention of continuing Fox’s hit-or-miss takes on the X-Men characters anyway.

Moreover, Marvel Studios plans on having Wolverine in costume; Jackman doesn’t need to look ripped like an Olympic god in every shirtless scene.

Adding Samuel L. Jackson to this Deadpool sequel instantly connects this project the MCU.

Additionally, the comedic firepower of Samuel L. Jackson with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman is box-office gold.

If DC Films’ R-rated Joker could earn a billion globally, this trio has the potential of topping it.

Nevertheless, it isn’t just about the cash.

Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds have proven chemistry with The Hitman’s Bodyguard films.

Furthermore, Reynolds’ social-media jousting with Jackman has had fans awaiting a collaboration for years.

Given the adult nature of the Deadpool movies, Marvel Studios is careful which MCU superheroes appear in them.

They feel that Jackson’s edgy, bad-ass persona as Fury is an absolute fit for the 18+ humor of Deadpool.

Beyond that, Fury could really deliver the carnage.

A source described this as “Three Amigos on steroids” if it goes through.
