Daredevil Echo Disney Plus Series

Echo, a deaf Native American superhero from the Daredevil comic book, will have her own Disney Plus series.

Daredevil hasn’t reappeared in the MCU yet; however, a character from his comics series is in development for her own Disney Plus show.

Echo (Maya Lopez) debuted in Daredevil No. 9 in 1999.

Writer David Mack and artist Joe Quesada created her as a love interest for Daredevil.

But her connection to Daredevil goes further than that.

When she was young, Echo’s father was murdered by the Kingpin.

Given Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige’s method of dropping puzzle pieces, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see where this is headed in the MCU.

Echo debuts in the upcoming Hawkeye series on Disney Plus.

Marvel Studios cast Alaqua Cox in the role.

In the comic books, Echo has ties to Hawkeye as well.

She was the mysterious Ronin, which is Japanese for masterless samurai.

If Ronin sounds familiar, it should.

After all, Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) became Ronin in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.

Echo gave Hawkeye the Ronin identity in the comics.

Given that the Hawkeye show will have flashbacks to Hawkeye’s Ronin days, that will most likely happen on the series, too.

Echo tracks down and goes after Daredevil’s old flame Elektra in the comics.

I recently leaked that Elektra will be on the new Daredevil Disney Plus program.

At this point, Echo’s young history in Marvel Comics sounds like future MCU spoilers.

Future MCU star Moon Knight even fell for her.

Obviously, Feige will tweak the character and her adventures for the MCU.

She’s been compared to the Taskmaster with her ability to mimic the movements of others, such as their fighting skills.

It’s easy to see why Feige saw the potential in Echo.

At the same, fans can be excited that the road leading to Daredevil has opened.
