Chris Evans Could Appear in MCU’s Fantastic Four Reboot

Long before the Loki variants, Chris Evans played different Marvel roles in Fox’s The Fantastic Four and the MCU. His worlds could collide.

Furthermore, Chris Evans has now appeared in more comic-book movies than any other actor to date.

He was Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four (2005) and its sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007).

In addition, he played Casey Jones in TMNT (2007); Jake Jensen in The Losers (2010); Lucas Lee in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (2010); and Curtis in Snowpiercer (2013).

But his most famous role is as Captain America in eleven MCU films.

At the end of Avengers: Endgame we saw Chris Evans pass down the shield to co-star Anthony Mackie.

Mackie will now be the MCU’s main Captain America going forward.

In other words, it seems like Chris Evans’ time with Marvel has reached its end.

After all, part of the journey is the end.

However, Chris Evans’ journey may not have reached its end just yet.

According to a new report, Marvel Studios is eager to have the actor return and cameo as Captain America in their planned Fantastic Four reboot.

Marvel would like to have Chris Evans appear in the new Fantastic Four as a fun nod to the audience.

After all, it’s well-known that before he was Captain America, he played the Human Torch in the original two movies from 20th Century Fox when they still owned the rights.

The article continued:

Our source was able to confirm that Marvel wants this to happen, but nothing we’ve heard yet leads us to believe that Chris Evans has signed on for the part. For now, we have only learned that Marvel wants to see this be a part of the new Fantastic Four movie. The studio considers it a nod for the audience to the fact that Chris Evans played Johnny Storm (The Human Torch) in the Fantastic Four movies in the past.

What kind of cameo Marvel has in mind for Chris Evans should he agree to take it remains to be seen.

The most likely of scenario would be him meeting the Fantastic Four’s latest Human Torch.

Whatever the cameo may be this won’t be the only movie Marvel wants to have Chris Evans appear in.

Geekosity previously reported that Marvel Studios is also interested in having the actor appear as an evil variant of Steve Rogers.

This is reminiscent of his Hail Hydra counterpart from the comics for Sam Wilson to go toe-to-toe with in their next Avengers movie.

Chris Evans is one of strongest foundations that the MCU has been built on alongside his fellow Avengers co-stars.

Therefore, it’s obvious that Marvel would want to bring him back whenever they can fit him into the narrative of their movies.

Chris Evans himself once said that whenever Marvel needs him, they’ve got him.
