Brie Larson Will Not Be Replaced as Captain Marvel

Ignore the fake rumors as Brie Larson will not be phased out as Captain Marvel.

The new title for the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel has been revealed a couple of days ago with the Marvel Studios “Celebrates the Movies” video.

The Marvels is now official.

The title alone presumes that well be seeing Carol Danvers again, but this time with Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris).

Captain Marvel is being positioned to be the face of Marvel Studios’ next phase of the franchise.

Replacing a lead character is not in Marvel’s cards and the Captain Marvel movie was very successful with $1.1 billion in worldwide box-office sales.

In comparison to other solo MCU films, Captain Marvel comes in the fourth top grossing film.

It is just below Black Panther, Iron Man 3 and Captain America: Civil War. Regardless of what people might think of Brie Larson, she was still a good investment for Marvel.

So it’s natural for Marvel to do what they can to bring her back.

But what did it take to get Brie Larson back into the shoes of Captain Marvel?

According to this report, Brie Larson had a few requests for returning to the character.

Larson wanted equal pay as her male counterparts, possibly even more than the ones who have been in the franchise longer.

She also wants more creative control over her character and the solo franchise.

Furthermore, she asked to get top billing in Avengers 5 and any upcoming crossover projects.

You may think that there might be other possible options for top billing for the next Avengers.

Considering Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Widow are now out.

Hawkeye seems to be training a new girl for his retirement.

The Hulk can’t be the lead since it might have issues with Universal Studios.

And Thor may be set in a different direction so, he might not lead the Avengers in the next movie.

It’s been said that Tom Holland would have gotten the top billing, but Marvel Studios is willing to put Larson instead.

It seems like Captain Marvel is the logical choice to be leading the next Avengers.

Since based on Captain Marvel’s history, she is the oldest and has more experience in being a superhero than anybody else in the current MCU other than Thor.
