Amber Heard has become 2022’s most-searched celebrity on Google. On one hand, it’s quite an honor. After all, she hit No. 1, above other A-listers such as Kim Kardashian, Elon Musk, and even the late Queen Elizabeth II. She even topped her ex-husband Johnny Depp. He landed at No. 2.

It’s fitting they seized the top two slots. Their court battles with one another dominated headlines, especially in the tabloids.

Per The New York Post, Amber Heard acquired 5.6 million monthly searches on Google. Depp, on the other hand, nearly reached her with 5.5 million monthly Google searches. Without a doubt, Depp’s televised defamation trial against Amber Heard threw gasoline onto the fire.

It was a real-life drama that played out in public. It had sex, violence, and disturbing accusations from both sides. People were on the edge of their seats wondering would be victorious. That turned out to be Depp. Depp was awarded $15 million. In addition, it cleaned his reputation somewhat. Heard’s portrait of Depp as an abuser fell to pieces.

Thereafter, Heard moved to Spain under a fake name. She now lives in a $3 million mansion.

Heard was searched more than 150 celebrities overall. CelebTattler provided the analysis.

However, interest in Heard extended beyond the court case. Many comic-book fans, especially DC followers, waited for her status in the Aquaman sequel. On July 26, YouTube scooper Syl Abdul revealed an intriguing mystery. Abdul said that Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom entered additional photography.

Apparently, Heard’s character Mera was in them.

On the contrary, his sources could not confirm if it was Heard.

In other words, Warner Bros. Discovery may have been recast her.

By this month, Abdul found his answer. Heard stays in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Nevertheless, she faces an uncertain future. Because of the controversy and Depp’s triumph, it’s unlikely WBD brings her back for another Aquaman movie. It’ll be up to new DC Studios to make that final decision. Will Emilia Clarke take over as Mera? Certainly, the rumors continue to roll. Neither WBD nor DC Studios has made an official statement about Mera.

Until then, the Google searches will continue for Heard.
