All The Rumored Important Cameos In Marvel’s Doctor Strange 2

Written by Joy Lyn Parohinog Francisco

The MCU is rumored to bring important cameos of characters in the upcoming sequel Marvel’s Doctor Strange 2.

As soon as the Disney Plus series touched the concepts of time variance in Loki, other universes in What If..? and warped realities in WandaVision, fans have made themselves so busy coming up with theories on next MCU projects. The re-acquisition of Marvel characters from Fox further fueled these theories especially now that anything, just anything or anyone, is possible. Adding coal to the fire are the confirmed Disney Plus series also coming up that could be pivotal or detrimental to the course of events.

After Avengers: Endgame, there isn’t actually a clear team for Avengers anymore. Everyone just sort of went on their separate ways: Wanda in her orchard, Peter getting his life back sans his friends, Stephen doing Sanctum Sanctorium duties, Clint with his family, Bruce has unclear research affiliation (probably still Stark), Thor…well he’s busy with his own upcoming movie, Anthony and Sebastian most likely doing government missions.

It is like getting the team together is no longer likely. So much so that it feels like they are prepping for a new team. The original team has lost so much. Tony, Vision, Natasha and Steve are gone.

Whether to build this new team or to be the means for the entity the future team will face, Marvel has all the following important Doctor Strange cameos ringing loudest to appear based on Doctor Strange 2 Rumors:

  1. Balder The Brave

An impressive Asgardian warrior, half-brother of Thor could appear from a parallel universe. There is also the possibility that Doctor Strange’s activities may have inadvertently freed him from Hel and bring him into the MCU.

In the comics Odin had Frigga cast spells towards Balder to become invulnerable. This is due to the prophecy that Baldur’s death would start the wheels of Asgard’s fate to Ragnarok. After the spells, he did become invulnerable except for mistletoe. Loki learned of this information and tricked another Asgardian into killing him. He was later restored in the comics but as he was resurrected from Hel he was never the same.

Why Balder the Brave? Doctor Strange 2 Cameos are mostly based on stories, actors and characters that almost made it to the silver screen. Baldur The Brave was nearly introduced into the MCU before in Thor: The Dark World. It is perhaps in line with his ties to the Ragnarok prophecy which was the third movie. Ideas on what “could have been” if he were truly in the Thor: The Dark World would affect the following events and movies of MCU. Some Doctor Strange 2 rumor even say he could be one of the council or Illuminati.

  1. Ghost Rider

Another Doctor Strange 2 rumor is that Ghost Rider gets freed from a spiritual prison amidst all the madness happening. Which Ghost Rider will be freed and to appear in Doctor Strange cameo is not clear but the visual of the burning skull on a rad ride would be stunning, or more aptly, petrifying while all the crazies are happening.

Why Ghost Rider? The mere presence of the Darkhold in a way teases the possibility as well as this rumor is tied to the future Midnight Sons. Whether he be Johnny Blaze or Robbie Reyes, Ghost Rider would always be a welcome Marvel cameo for the fans.

  1. Loki

We are talking about the god of mischief. For all we know, his single theft back in Endgame started all this mess in the first place! A Doctor Strange 2 rumor even goes around saying he wouldn’t just be a cameo. He will be quite substantial in the narrative of Doctor Strange 2. Time Variants and him possibly bringing in the Agency would play quite a huge role in the story. There is also the possibility that the Loki coming in for a cameo will not be the original. Maybe Sylvie? Just please don’t bring the crocodile. Then again, that could be a Marvel Doctor Strange Cameo possibility as well. Maybe even more Lokis.

Why Loki? Apparently, fans caught a glimpse of the Time Variance Authority’s Timedoors. Further, as Loki has a confirmed season 2, there has to be activities that address this thinga-ma-jig going on in this universe. The TVA can be helpful with that.

  1. Kang The Conqueror

In light of mentioning the Loki series, Kang the Conqueror is not unlikely to appear as a Doctor Strange cameo. During the season finale, even though he did not tell them his name is Kang, he did tell Loki and Sylvie that he is often times called the Conqueror. In actuality this Kang is He Who Remains.

Why Kang the Conqueror? A variant of He Who Remains is Kang the Conqueror. When Sylvie killed He Who Remains, it unleashed Kang the Conqueror in another time variance and quite possibly, one of the two Doctor Strange rumors could be true: either he is part of the illuminati or he is a bigger villain in the making.

  1. Captain Carter

This is a Marvel cameo that is one of the more confirmed appearances. Her shield is seen on the official poster and Doctor Strange rumors say that her silhouette is seen as Strange was escorted to see the council.

Why Captain Carter? The final episodes of What If…? showed how honorable and capable Captain Carter is. As part of the Illuminati, her strong sense of justice will be valuable when they come across entities that endanger the multiverse.

  1. Iron Man (Variant)

This Doctor Strange 2 rumor has been going around for months perhaps even years. It even had leaked photos that soon were identified “photoshopped”. Though the images that were not authentic does not mean a variant of Iron Man, especially one portrayed by Tom Cruise, is not possible. His cards are still on the table.

Why Iron Man? The presence of Ultron robots highly clue-in the presence of Iron Man, in this case, his variant. It is him or Ultron himself. But the trailer highly suggests the presence of Superior Iron Man or another character in this Marvel Doctor Strange Cameos list.

  1. Blade

We have reported about a week ago that there is a good chance Blade is part of the Illuminati. It is the council whom Doctor Strange answers to in the trailers. Bringing Blade as part of the Illuminati pays homage to the first Marvel movie that made it all possible.

Why Blade? 1998 was the year Marvel had its first blockbuster movie starring Wesley Snipes. Because of Blade, people got a different view on how superhero movies can be made. Despite the fact that Mahershala Ali is the signed upcoming Blade in the MCU, having Wesley Snipes in the Illuminati would be a fitting tribute to the character that started it all.

  1. Monica Rambeau

Monica Rambeau’s presence in Doctor Strange 2 cameos is attributed to two aspects of her story: her WandaVision character who was exposed to Wanda’s Chaos Magic and Loki where we possibly see a variant of Monica Rambeau.

Why Monica Rambeau? Primarily as part of her character arch under WandaVision, Monica could be instrumental in fighting Wanda during a battle. Doctor Strange rumor further says that it can be her moment to turn into Photon.

  1. Vision

Coming in also from WandaVision is …well… Vision. A Doctor Strange cameo of the White Vision that Wanda came across at the end of the series.

Why Vision? Like Monica Rambeau, White Vision will have a certain mission to defeat or at least disarm Wanda. It would also be interesting if he and Wanda would exchange words as he himself was given Vision’s memories.

  1. Spider-Man

Spider-Man making a Doctor Strange cameo is very close to unsurprising. This is due to 2 reasons: recent film involvement and Director Sam Raimi at the helm of the Multiverse of Madness. We can even hope for all three of them back again.

Why Spider-Man? Why not? He is a responsible guy with great powers after all. There is also a chance that he will somewhat feel that a part of all this madness is his fault. The three could actual help re-scooby-doo things up. Doctor Strange needs all the help he can get.

  1. Professor X

Finally the Marvel Doctor Strange gives us the cameo of cameos, all but confirmed, but yeah we know you are there Sir Patrick Stewart. Professor X, or a variant of Professor Xavier as part of the Illuminati. He will tell us the truth.

Why Professor X? Because the truth needs to be told.

There you have it, 11 of the most probable if not already confirmed and noteworthy all important Marvel Doctor Strange 2 rumored cameos highly anticipated in the upcoming Multiverse of Madness.

It’s madness! Madness I tell you!

Somewhere, somehow, after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness gets to tell his tale, we can all speculate on a new set of possibilities:

Who are the new Avengers going to be?
